Lee Hye-ri, commonly spelled Hyeri, is a South Korean actress and singer who has built a cross-field career in music and acting. She is best known as a member of Girls’ Day, a K-pop girl group that debuted in 2010 and became a familiar name on stages and screens across Asia. Through Girls’ Day, Hyeri helped bring attention to a generation of performers who blend singing, dancing, and acting as part of a single entertainment career. Her early public profile came from music promotions and variety show appearances, where her energetic presence and approachable personality resonated with audiences. Hyeri’s transition from a focus on music to screen acting followed a path many K-pop idols take to expand their opportunities, allowing her to reach new fans who connect with her on television. Her breakout moment came with the popular television drama “Reply 1988” (2015-2016), where she portrayed Duk Sun. The series became a cultural touchstone in South Korea and among international viewers, praised for its warm portrayal of family and friendship in a nostalgic setting. Hyeri’s performance in this drama was frequently singled out for its authenticity and emotional nuance, helping her establish credibility as an actress beyond her idol image. The success of that project contributed to a broader recognition of her talents, leading to further opportunities in both television and film. Since then, she has continued to pursue diverse projects while maintaining her commitments with Girls’ Day, balancing activities in music, acting, and media appearances. Hyeri’s public presence extends beyond screens, with brand endorsements and appearances on variety programs that showcase her versatility and broad appeal. Across interviews and public appearances, she is often described as relatable, candid, and easy to root for, traits that endear her to fans and help sustain a lasting, multi-faceted career in the Korean entertainment industry.
